Sponsors who support Classics and Chrome are supporting more than just a car show. The event is the largest fundraiser of the year for Keith Country Day School and is very successful at driving tourism to the Stateline area. During the last 10 years, more than $500,000 has been raised for Keith’s scholarship, fine arts and sports programs.
CAR SHOW FACTS
- Average attendance based on the past four shows -- 7,500
- Classics and Chrome helps drive tourism to Rockford and helps further the city’s brand. According to a last show sampling done by the Rockford Convention and Visitors Bureau, 22% of the attendees were either visiting Rockford for the first time or returning to Rockford from outside the area. Of those visitors, nearly 20% stayed in local hotels.
- Media coverage for Classics and Chrome includes local, state-wide and national media. Last year’s event was covered by the Chicago Tribune, St. Louis Dispatch, Rockford Register Star as well as 30-40 additional media outlets.
- Media sponsors for Classics and Chrome are WIFR and Maverick Media
- Show demographics prove to be widespread with attendees generally including families, males 25-39, local students and approximately 44% female.
