The 9th Annual Classics and Chrome

Perhaps you once dreamed of owning a Ford Mustang like your next door neighbor, or always wondered what a Model T looked like.  If cars and motorcycles make your head turn as they drive down the street, then you won’t want to miss the 2009 Classics and Chrome Car Show, presented by Keith Country Day School, on April 18-19.

Entering its ninth year, Classics and Chrome is the largest indoor car show in northern Illinois.  It features more than 120 unique vehicles that span over 100 years.  Located at the ISC, Indoor Sports Center, 8800 E. Riverside, Loves Park, IL, the show runs Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admissions are $6, $4 for advanced group sales and free for children under 10.

During this two-day spectacle, over 7,500 people will witness an automotive-haven with car categories including pre- and post-war classics, sports cars, muscle cars, hot-rod and custom cars, exotic and race cars, specialty cars and motorcycles.

Although the heavy metal is the main attraction, the Classics and Chrome raffle is one of the show’s most popular features.  Patrons can buy raffle tickets for just one hundred dollars or buy five tickets and get the sixth one free.  The grand prize of the raffle is $35,000.  In addition to the cars and the raffle, patrons can enjoy food, shop at the vendor booths or vote on the “People’s Choice” award.
